Doomwalker bites it with 60 seconds left on server shutdown

WOW. I am still shaking as I type this. Tonight the instance servers decided to crap out on us so we headed to Shadowmoon Valley to try our hand at Doomwalker. Our first go saw him at 15%. As we were waiting for the 15 min debuff to expire, Daycare put some time on him. They wiped at 17%. A server shutdown was rapidly approaching to resolve the instance servers, and we began the fight with 10 minutes remaining and tons of horde surrounding us. Horde were landing around us left and right, we called DPS and dropped them immediately. As Doomwalker approached 7% health our last tank died.. He began cutting through the raid as our DPS fell left and right. With only 4 raid members left standing Doomwalker crumpled beneath us.. The screams and adrenaline going through ventrilo were out of control as we tried to sort his loot before the server shutdown.. With only 60 seconds remaining on the server shutdown we handed out the loots and celebrated our victory. The kill screenshot was taken with extreme haste, you can even see one of the horde that were harassing us in it. Incredibly well earned victory tonight for all of SI.

The SI mount curse has been broken!

The Deathcharger.. The Swift Zulian Tiger.. The Swift Razzashi Raptor.. These are just some of the rare epic mounts that SI has never, ever, seen drop since we began raiding almost 2 full years ago. Bad luck, or a curse? I think we had all resigned ourselves to the latter.. That is, until today.

I am happy to report that at long last the dreaded SI epic mount curse has been broken!! Kaliantigo, hereby known as the curse-breaker, has reclaimed SI’s glory and taken Attumen’s Steed for her own. Congrats Kali on obtaining this very impressive mount!

Hydross the Unstable goes ‘poof’

First it was Magtheridon who shocked us with his surprisingly lacking “corpse” once defeated. I mean, the former lord of Outland should leave behind an impressive body when slain, right? Nope, instead he just vanished into the air, leaving a lil chunk of armor behind.

So to continue in that trend of “bosses we kill that make for crappy screenshots” we have purged Hydross the Unstable. How awesome does this raid boss look when defeated? Once again, he “vanishes” and turns into 2 oversized bracers. Wooo hooo.

However, if you study the screenshot carefully, you will see we worked it up as best we could. In the background you have night elves performing synchronized jumping. In the foreground to the left, a naked human paladin, if you’re into that sort of thing. Here’s hoping Leotheras the Blind looks more impressive after we’ve walked all over his shattered remains.
