Last night Sanctus Imperium entered Zul’Gurub to challenge the ancient blood god, Hakkar himself. We tested our greatest adversary yet and at the end of the battle blood and sweat filled the air as Hakkar was reduced to a mere 10% health. He narrowly escaped this time, but we will back!

Great job in Zul Gurub last night as we 1 shotted Venoxis, Jeklik, Mar’Li, and Bloodlord Mandokir. It’s too easy when you have great people in your raid that listen and are team players. You guys rock!

This past Friday we held an impromptu Zul Gurub run and WOW I was impressed! For our first foray into Zul Gurub we took 13 guildies and 7 pickup group players all with Ventrilo. Everyone in the guild had CT Raid Assist installed and we tore into this instance. Results of our first run include 1 shotting Venoxis, 2 shotting Jek’Lik, and 2 shotting Bloodlord Mandokir. Well done all!! Drops include the Halberd of Smiting, Zanzil’s Seal, Zulian Defender and more. We also were able to get some of the Primal reputation items which will be able to be turned in next patch for epic gear from the quest npcs on Yojamba Isle!

Thanks to everyone who attended, we’ll be heading back in this Sunday at 1 PM server time to drop the spider aspect Mar’Li. As we begin progressing into Zul Gurub we need to focus on obtaining the best pre-raid gear we can find including armor sets, +defense items for tanks, and +mana items for the casters. Mana regen and longevity are key in these battles. The dungeon 2 armor set quests beginning in the Ironforge throne room are an excellent way to get some powerful gear that would benefit us in these instances. Anyone that can donate consumables such as healing, mana, and armor pots, etc to the guild bank or the reagants to make them please do. You can send donations to sibank.

UPDATE evening of 5/21/06 - We entered ZG tonight and 1 shotted Mar’Li, moving onto 2 shotting the Panther boss and 3 shotting Thekal! Amazing job everyone!!! This left us with only Jin’Do and Hakkar as the remaining bosses for our very first weekend in Zul Gurub.

We won 2 out of 3 AVs this past Friday night and I was very impressed with our guild’s level of teamwork! WELL DONE ALL!! The first game we lost was already in progress when we joined so it does not really count against us. The second two games we won were both fresh starting games with Sanctus jumping in quick. The best part: Our first win occured in 1 hour 1 minute, the next win in 1 hour 31 minutes! Talk about fast wins and great honor / reputation gains for all who attended.
